Summary
Robust economic growth in Malaysia has stimulated the power demand in the country. The dominant source of power generation in the country has been thermal followed by hydro but Malaysia, as a country, has experienced a shift in the country’s fuel mix over the last decade. Different policies have been initiated by the government to steer the power generation sector away from thermal fuel sources as the country is now aiming to reduce its greenhouse emissions. Although usage of renewable sources for power generation is on the up and the nuclear power option is also being looked at, thermal is here to stay and is expected to continue to dominate Malaysia’s power mix in the future.
Scope
- Impact of non - conventional energy in the power mix of Malaysia
- Role of gas reserves in the power generation portfolio
- Power demand stimulating Malaysias economic growth
Reasons to buy
